It's always interesting to me to see how other countries interpret and create American dishes. And to be honest I usually like "American" food better in other countries, because they are created with fresh ingredients. All these American dishes were SO fresh and delicious.
I had the Goat Cheese and Veggie Salad with Homemade Ginger Mint Lemonade. Katie also the Toasted Goat Cheese Sandwich and Corbin and my Mom both had the Silly Cheese Steak Sandwich. Of course I tasted everyone's and they were all so yummy.
The Goat Cheese Salad was something that I would be so happy to eat everyday for lunch! It had romaine lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, sunflower seeds, pine nuts, cucumber, goat cheese, and a balsamic glaze for the dressing.
One of the beverages I miss most in Europe is definitely lemonade. No one does it like America. Lombardo's came pretty close though! This lemonade was homemade with ginger and mint. Healthy and Delicious!
As you can see in the first picture there is a cute little shop next door to Lombardo's called Stach. We stopped by after our meal (what really caught our eye was all the cookies and treats in the window). I would highly suggest stopping by here for all your snack needs. We picked up the essentials; cookies and cream truffles, marshmallow popcorn, honey and sea salt peanut butter, stroop waffles, beer, wine, and my personal favorite granola. I got two different types of granola and both are already gone thanks to my husband. They must have been good if he got to it before I did.
