Now this place is possibly heaven on earth. I love Ree and everything about her recipes, way of life, cinnamon rolls, etc... She is a home cook, which means she's learned to do everything she does herself without any professional schooling. For those of you who don't know she has her own cooking show on food network; The Pioneer Woman. Recently she opened her own store, restaurant, and cafe in her husband's hometown. Which is where her and her family runs a massive cattle ranch and has for generations. I love that she chose to put this Mercantile where she lives! Amazing!
Guys. The FOOOOOOD. Ok so upstairs is the most adorable bakery with all the treats and coffee you could ever dream of. Cinnamon Rolls, Croissants, Rice Krispies, Scones, Pecan Sticky Rolls... basically whatever your little heart desires. That was our first stop because we weren't sure how long the line for the restaurant would be during lunch time. Rumor has it the line to eat could take hours. We selected our treats and coffee, and also got a tray or two of cinnamon rolls and sticky buns to go. Next was shopping! I walked out barely unscathed; some souvenirs and plates!
The restaurant was magical. We couldn't decide on what we wanted. So we got alot of foods. To start us off Spinach and Artichoke Dip, then Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese Dippers, Spicy Caesar Salad, and Marlboro Man Sandwich. We couldn't eat all of it, but it was worth it. I wish there was a way I could just get into the kitchen and try one bite of everything on the menu!
Long story short I'd highly recommend stopping through the Mercantile. Here's her Menu, so you will understand why it was impossible for us to choose.
